Nine Funny April Fool's Day Pranks

Would you like to play a safe but hilarious prank on your friends, family, or roommates this April Fools Day? Here are some ideas:

#1: Switch your Target's Salt and Sugar

This is a great prank to play on your family or roommate. Just put salt in the sugar bowl, and sugar in the salt shaker. Watch your father's surprise at salty coffee and see your roommate's shock at sweet scrambled eggs.

#2: Call someone, tell them you've been arrested, and will they please give you bail money?

I tried this one on my Dad a few years ago, and it was extremely funny. I wouldn't advise doing this if you have frail parents or neurotic friends, though- you don't want to shock people too badly.

#3: Tell your parents or friends you are gay (or straight, depending on what you naturally are)

I think I'll try this one on my parents this year. Chances are your friends/parents will either feign understanding, yell at you, or throw you out of the house temporarily. Guaranteed to cause lots of mayhem.

#4: Draw funny eyebrows on your family/roommates while they sleep

The night before April Fools Day, draw uni-brows, angry brows, and colorful brows on your victims with Sharpie. In the morning, your targets might not even notice their new look if they are in a hurry, and even if they do notice they probably won't be able to scrub the permanent marker off completely.

#5: Tell somebody you/your girlfriend is pregnant

I think I'll try this one on some friends this year. I guarantee you will astonish whoever you are telling (especially if you're very old/young), and maybe you can even convince them to plan and pay for your "baby shower" before you admit your prank.

#6: Ding-dong-ditch

Ding-dong-ditch your friends, family, neighbors, and acquaintances. Enough said.

#7: Give your friends a shock

Invest a few bucks in a shock pen or shock button, and go around letting your friends try your new pen and shaking their hands in apology.

#8: Fill water bottles with vodka

Fill your target's water bottles with vodka and send them off to work or school. Later, when your victim is thirsty, he'll take a big swig of water and have a huge surprise. Its very jolting to think you're taking a swig of water and then realizing its actually alcohol.

Note: Don't play this prank on minors or recovered alcoholics. That'd just be lame.

#9: Dip your household's toothbrushes in lemon juice

The night before April Fools Day, dip your family's toothbrushes in lemon juice. The sour-faced expressions the next morning will be priceless- don't forget your camera!
